Ghanaian giants Asante Kotoko have donated an amount of GHc 5,000 to support juvenile club,Africa Vision Soccer Academy following the death of eight young footballers in Offinso, Ashanti Region on Saturday evening.
Bus carrying 36 passengers of Africa Vision Soccer Academy, a Colts team was involved in an accident as they journeyed back to their Offinso base in the Offinso Municipal Assembly.The accident left six of the footballers dead instantly with two later dying at KATH.
The team were on their way home from Afrancho after vetting and registration of juvenile football players in readiness for the District's Juvenile League. The exercise is sanctioned by GFA.
The Chief Executive Officer of Asante Kotoko, Nana Yaw Amponsah in his address at maiden press conference on Tuesday at Sports Hotel in Kumasi,made this known to the media.
"The club has donated GHc 5,000 to help the victims of the Offinso accident who are receiving treatment at the hospital."
"I thank the Board of Directors for giving me the free hands to name my Management team."
