Yacouba pens heartfelt message to Kotoko

Sep 07, 2020

Former striker, Songne Yacouba has sent a message of gratitude to the Porcupines following his departure from the club.

The Burkinabe joined the Ghanaian giants in 2018 after impressing the technical team in a short trial.

Yacouba’s stellar performances earned him a two-year deal with us and formed part of former head coach, Charles Akonnor’s team that secured a group stage qualification in the CAF Confederation Cup.

However, after talks on his contract renewal broke down, the forward opted out and has since joined Young Africans FC in Tanzania.

“It’s been a wonderful journey with the Porcupine family,” said the Burkinabe in a message to the club on Thursday.

“We celebrated many victories and stood as one family in moments of defeats.”

“I wish to thank the Board Chairman, Dr Kwame Kyei for his support and advice, the then management members, coaches, my teammates and the team doctors.”

“Special thank you to the supporters and fans who made me feel special and happy during my time at Kumasi. I wish to say sorry to all those I offended during my days in the team,”

“It has been a pleasure and an honour to play for the club with the most supporters in Ghana and the club of the century. Asante Kotoko will forever be part of my story and I wish them the best of luck for the future.”
