Sep 04, 2020

Accra Hearts of Oak burly forward, Kofi Kordzi's seething frustration with the lack of competitive football in the country surfaced as President Akufo Addo failed to ease the restriction on football in the country due to COVI9 pandemic.

Last Sunday's 16th address by President Akufo-Addo on measures to combat Covid-19 dealt a further blow for domestic football as Ghana extends ban on contact sports.

The pacy attacker who spoke to Edmund Osafo Addo on SilverSports bemoaned frustration over the government extension of the ban on football.

''As professional footballers, the game is our job and the revenue are what we depend on to cater for our families and so I must confess that we feel weary staying idle without any competition''

The in form forward hinted that negotiations on his contract renewal would soon panned out even though discussions on a possible extension are still in progress.

Kordzi joined the Phobians in January 2019 on a three year on a three-year deal from lower-tier side Royal FC.

He has spent close to two years of his 3 year career at the Accra based premier league giants and he is nearing a decision on his future with Hearts of Oak.

The bulky striker has been in sensational form for the Phobians and is their top scorer after netting 6 goals in 14 games in the suspended premier league campaign.

Kordzi signed for the Rainbow club under erstwhile Coach Kim Grant and CEO Mark Noonan administration.
