In an interview monitored by pitchonlinegh, the Accra Regional Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Afia Tenge confirmed;
“Currently a team of investigators including the Crime Scene management team from the CID have begun investigations and are undertaking thorough crime scene reconstruction analysis to help the police clear headway into the unfortunate incident.”
Professor Emmanuel Yaw Benneh,a law lecturer at the University of Ghana Law Faculty was allegedly murdered in his Adjiringanor residence in Accra.
The dastardly act is reported to have took place at the deceased's mansion on Thursday night but the dead body was found in his East Legon home on Saturday.
Details of how he died is sketchy as of now but some sources have said it is a suspected case of murder.
According to his colleague at the Faculty, Dr Poku Adusei, the academic was “murdered” in the same fashion as the late Abuakwa North MP, Joseph Boakye Danquah-Adu.
Dr Poku Adusei for instance posted the following on Facebook:
”Folks, I had wanted not to be the breaker of such ominous news, but the calls are incessant: The world is damned evil; Prof. Yaw Benneh of Legon Law has been 'murdered' in JB-style in his Adjirigano mansion.
“It appears to be an act perpetuated about three days ago, but it was just discovered this morning,” Dr Adusei wrote.
Benneh earned both his M.Litt and LL.M (International Law Option) from University of Cambridge in the United Kindgom.
He held a postgraduate Certificate in International and Comparative Law from University of Leiden.
He earned his LL.B with Second Class Upper from University of Ghana and had enormous consulting experience and has published extensively.
The Greater Accra Regional Police has picked up four persons in connection with the murder of the Senior Law lecturer.
